As with all Death characters, he speaks in all capital letters when addressing mortals, and his current job is to collect the souls of mortals who have died by being ground by a mars rover rock abrasion tool. Naturally, he has had very few souls to collect. To date, he has collected only one soul under this title: a Martian.
After succeeding in bringing the Martian in, Ground was promoted to Insanely Overpowered Fireballs by the Head Death. At the same time, Insanely Overpowered Fireballs was fired. He served his post fine, until he failed to bring in all the souls that Kyros killed with an insanely overpowered fireball. He was then demoted to Sat On By A Giant Frog, as punishment, following the steps of his predecessor, the original Insanely Overpowered Fireballs. He later reappeared in the Harry Potter theme when Hermione accidently summoned a giant frog that killed Ron. Death offered him a chance to return to the living, but was surprised when Ron challenged him to Quidditch. However, being unfamiliar with the game, he instead flipped a coin and lost. Ron was returned to life. Head Death scolded him for losing a soul and threatend to fire him, but admited they were on hard time and were down to skeleton staff.
